Kindergarten....

Over here school won't start til after Labor Day....a sacrifice, I know! Well the school that our Camster will be going to has a one year and a two year Kindergarten program. The kids have to be "tested" to find out what class they will be put in. There were a series of tasks the counselor would have Cami do to check her motor skills and such. Another part of the test was to ask questions......a few particular questions went like this:

Counselor: Cami, what does Daddy do at work?
Cami: Daddy works in a big building w/ lots of Marines...
Counselor: What does Mami do?
Cami: Mami teaches me number and plays w/ me....and she cleans. Mami is a cleaner!
*a few more questions then.......
Counselor: Cami, do you have any brothers or sisters
Cami: yes
Counselor: How many?
Cami: I want baby brothers and baby sisters
Counselor: Do you have baby brothers and baby sisters
Cami: No, Daddy says he's working on it!

I wanted to die!!!! Thanks Marc!!! LOL!!! Needless to say Cami will be in the one year Kinder program, the counselor said she was very smart and very VOCAL!!! If she only knew!

Did you really have to ask?

I took Cami to get her hair cut before school starts. She was so excited she talked and talked to the poor hair dresser. Finally when Katie (the hair dresser) got a word in, this is how it went.....

Katie: Well, Miss Cami you have beautiful hair!
Cami: Yes, Mami combs it and gets all the tangles out. I have long hair like a princess!
Katie: You do...who is your favorite princess?
Cami: ME!!!

LOL...that's my kid!

Yogurt....

We were at the airport today waiting on Alex's plane to arrive. We had already been there about an hour when we found out that the plane would be delayed even longer. Cami plopped herself down on the floor, crossed her legs, put her elbows on her knees and started humming. When we asked her what she was doing, Cami looked up at us and said, "I'm practicing my yogurt!" We did everything we could to not bust out laughing!

OH no she didn't!!!!

Well, it's happened! Cami is fearless (she got that from her Daddy) and Cami speaks her mind (also getting that from her Daddy!) LOL! Cami and I often go shopping together, run around and do errands before Daddy gets home from work. Keep in mind, we all know how loud my daughter speaks! This particular day went like this:

Shopping at a grocery store....it's a little crowded and a woman is bending over arranging some items on the bottom shelf.

Me: Excuse me

Woman: Oh no problem

Cami: Excuse me...excuse me lady, I can see your bottom!!!

Me: (HORRIFIED!!!)

Woman: (pulling up her pants and laughing) Oh that must have not been a pretty sight!

Me: I'm so sorry!!!! (RED in the face!!!)

Woman: Still laughing again says no problem!

Then on to the Dr's office....we are waiting to be called back. It's a little crowded so we are sitting in front of the sign in desk. A woman walks in w/ what seems to be her teenage daughter (about 16 or so). The daughter has on a very, very torn pair of jeans. Just then Cami sees the huge hole on the girls tooshie.

Cami: (eyes wide) WHOA...Mami!!!!

Me: (trying to cover Cami's mouth & giving her that look) mumbling: be quiet!!!

Cami: (pulling away) Mami...I see her panties!!! Nice ladies do not show their panties!!!

*At this point the mother turns around and looks at Cami...the daughter never flinches

Cami: No we don't show our panties, that's not nice!

Me: (At this point I give up...if the mother wants to get mad and say something, then so be it!) That's right Cami, we don't show our panties...that is not a nice thing to do. That's why we cover up and wear shorts under our dresses!

(Hey, I figured the girl wanted the attention to be wearing those jeans in the first place....and if the mother wanted to do something about it....at least she would have gotten great medical care! ) LOL!!!!

The nurse calls us back (saved by the bell...or so I thought)

Cami: (to the nurse) That girl is showing her panties....that's not nice!!!! (And then points to the girl!)

My kid has to have the last word!!! (Okay so she got that from me!)

My very first blog....

Well, I figured since we moved clear across the country that this would probably be the easiest way to keep everyone updated. More so updated on Cami's craziness! LOL...but you know about the rest of us too!
We do miss everyone so much! Especially our Ethan! However, we LOVE it up here! PA is a beautiful state in general! We live in a great area and we're only hour(s) away from Hershey Park, Dorney Park, Lancaster, Sight & Sound, Virginia Beach, Sesame Street Place, NYC, and most importantly...my NY family! (All of which we've been to already and LOVED!)
We thank God for bringing us here, He has really shown us favor. We had some reservations at first, but then it was clear to us that God's hand was in it from the beginning....from us driving up here from TX to us getting our house within 2 days of us being here to us finding a church that first Sunday! Amazing!

Cami misses Grandma....

Yesterday we took my parents back to the airport. Sad, sad day. I must say that this time when they left was a lot easier than the first. I don't know if Cami is "getting use" to saying good-bye or if she was excited that Grandma had bribed her and was going to mail her a surprise when she got home. Either way, there was less tears (and snot) this time around! But then came bed time. This is when the tears really started. Cami must have cried for an hour...see when Grandma comes she and Cami have 'jama parties every night. They watch movies and tell stories. Cami was devastated that there was no one to do that with! HELLO...am I chopped liver? I offered and got shot down...she wanted Grandma! Finally we got her to fall asleep. Poor baby! All this for just loving her Grandma! LOL
